Blog Post 3: My Dream Job

Since I was at school, I always had different jobs in mind, I pictured myself being a psychologist, an actress, a businesswoman, and many others. However, being a teacher was something that came natural to me, I started teaching when I was at school, I taught English to my classmates before the tests, and I also taught English and Spanish when I was at university, that is how I got extra money, even though I was studying translation at that time.

I studied translation because I love languages and my dad told me I would starve If I became a teacher. However, the first real job that I found was teaching at a private university, my coordinator told me I was good, so I continued with that path until today. Because I wasn’t a “real” teacher I got a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, so now I have the studies to back me up.

My dream for the future is to become a professor, which means, a teacher who teaches students who want to become teachers as well. In that way, I could discuss language with people interested and curious about the language. Teaching at a Translation major would also be a dream job, because it would mean studying and teaching English and Spanish.

What about you?
